Stockton-on-Tees

A County Durham market town is Stockton-on-Tees, England. It is thought that into this category, Stockton fell and, perhaps an indication that a Norton or Durham outpost which were Anglo-Saxon centres that were important was Stockton, is the name. Known to be the fossilised remains location of the hippopotamus ever discovered most northerly on Earth is Stockton. In 1644, the Scots captured Stockton Castle and occupied it until 1646.

From 1882 until it folded 1975, Stockton Football Club existed. A name that is Anglo-Saxon with the place name that is typical Anglo-Saxon ending 'ton' meaning homestead or farm is Stockton. In Stockton Castle, which was just a fortified manor house, the bishop had a residence.

In 1862, a hospital opened in Stockton and in 1877, a public library opened. With the Northshore scheme of £300 million, which will include leisure facilities, new offices, housing, a 150-bedroom hotel and a new campus for Durham University, work to develop the River Tees north bank is under way in Stockton. Health advice centres, a general hospital, a library, medical and dental surgeries, employment advice centres, churches, an international family centre, energy advice centres, and youth projects are public services provided in Stockton.

Falls within the jurisdiction of Cleveland Police, is Stockton-on-Tees. Play in the Division One of the Northern League after consecutive promotions in 2016 winning the Wearside League and in 2017 Northern League Division 2 was Stockton Town F.C., and currently play in the North Riding Football League Premier Division was Stockton West End.
